a confirmation letter via email or fax regarding
pertinent class information including location, driving
directions, course date/s, times, materials list, etc.
This course will prepare security
officers for employment in the private security field.
This course contains all of the required topics/areas
established by rule in the Minnesota state laws
regarding certified basic training of security
professionals.
INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES
1. The student, after 12 hours of
instruction, will possess the knowledge, application and
basic skills for general duties in the private security
services field.
2. This 12 hour course introduces
the student to the job description for security
officers, the comparisons of public and private law
enforcement duties, responsibilities, legal aspects of
security, risk management, officer safety issues
multi-cultural concepts, diversity, communication
skills, personal and public relations, physical
security, problem solving concepts, risk analysis, note
taking, report writing, foot and vehicle patrol
techniques and more.
3. This course is designed to
provide protective agent contractors, owners, managers,
and authorized representatives, in addition to security
officers who are employed by the contractor to meet the
6 hours of continuing education requirements using any
combination of three (3) hour segments.
Certificates will be be given to praticipants upon
completion of the course and/or fulfilling the
continuing education requirement.
COURSE METHODOLOGY
This course will be conducted by use of
the following teaching methodologies: Lecture,
demonstrations, class discussions, video presentations,
segment exam and final exam.
