CERTIFICATION COURSE INFORMATION
This course is approved
by P.O.S.T., MN Board of Private Detectives & Protective
Agents (MNBPDPA)
This course is also
approved by the MN Sheriffs Association and MN Bureau of
Criminal Apprehensions (BCA) for private citizens
(general public) to apply for a statewide permit a
Permit to Carry a Handgun

Prerequisites:
NONE
You will need to bring:
Handgun, ammunition, holster, duty belt/gear, ear
protection, eye protection, brimmed hat, pen/pencil,
notebook, comfortable clothing, (*)
*All registered attendees will receive
a confirmation letter via email or fax regarding
pertinent class information including location, driving
directions, course date/s, times, materials list, etc.

Lectures & presentations will be held
in the training room at our corporate location.
Firearms qualifications will be held at either the
indoor shooting range in the basement of the Willmar
City Auditorium or outdoors at the Eagle Lake Gun Club.
LEARNING GOAL
The purpose of this course is to have
participants demonstrate their ability to proficiently
use and shoot their duty handguns accurately and to gain
required knowledge regarding the Use of Force and Deadly
Use of Force.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES
Course work includes both classroom
content (i.e.: Explanation of basic firearms safey
rules, Use of Force/Deadly Use of Force) including
hand-outs and video presentations, as well as actual
tactical training including various shooting drills,
(Pre-qualifing practice, movement, reloading, zones).

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Successful completion of this course is
determined by the participant's ability to demonstrate
proficiency with a pistol and shoot a passing score on
the accuracy test. The course requires a passing
score of 80% or higher. Scores are not recorded
numerically, only as pass or fail.
HANDGUN ACCURACY TEST will be
comprised of the following:
60 Shots, Double Action (single action
semi-automatics may be used)
NO REFIRES OR ALIBIS ALLOWED DURING THE
SHOOTING COURSE
25 YARDS - 12 SHOTS
- 60 SECONDS
(6 Shots Kneeling, Strong Side Barricade,
6 Shots Using Barricade for Cover, Shooters Choice of
side & position)
15 YARDS
- 18 SHOTS - 37 SECONDS
(12 Shots Standing = 25 Seconds, 6 Shots
Kneeling = 12 Seconds)
